Hotmail iconic messaging service for Outlook

Hotmail is dead, long live Hotmail! Microsoft announced the end of his iconic messaging service; it will replace "Outlook.com". Specifically, what will it change for users?

The news made headlines in the high-tech news: Microsoft announces the end of Hotmail. The messaging system will be totally reworked and replaced by Outlook.com, as the name of the mail client from Microsoft.

"Will I lose my address?”

Rest assured, you will not lose your Hotmail address. You can either "update" this address so she could switch to the new system. In this case, it does not change. Or, if you wish, replace it with an address "@ outlook.com."

What new features?

Microsoft decided it was time to reinvigorate its messaging system, including anticipating the arrival of Windows 8 and the management of its mail on smartphones and tablets.

The system will add new features to those already offered by Hotmail. First, social networks will be directly integrated into the platform (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and even Google). Skype should follow in time. This complete integration of social networks, however, still poses a concern: if the Outlook were to be hacked, everything connected with it may be in the hands of hackers.

Outlook.com will also address the fact that the mail today lost its importance since the inboxes are clogged with newsletters and notifications, while the contacts are all stored on social networks and more in the book address.

Outlook.com will also edit documents through "web apps" Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
Smartphones and tablets equipped with a Microsoft operating system but also to Android or iOS will have access to this interface.

Google tackles Microsoft Advertising

Microsoft took the opportunity to tackle the way Google and its Gmail email service, which scans the content of e-mails to offer advertisers to display targeted ads in its interface.

Microsoft states that it will not be the case of Outlook. Com. "The e-mails and their attachments will not be analyzed in order to sell this information to advertisers or any other company. We do not post advertisements in private conversations. The user can decide whether to connect to their social networking e-mail account and which it wants to use. "Said Chris Jones on the Microsoft blog.
