City to Village life for a while

Read completely to know the essence and experience of the travel and stay at Village from City life.

One of my friend is working and living in Bangalore but he is actually from a village that is around 70kms from the City. He was requesting us (me and my other friends) since long to visit to his native place and stay for a day with them to enjoy the village and meeting their parents etc.

Since we don’t get enough time or suitable plan for group to just go and visit over there without any purpose or device work like (Computer for blogging or office work, or Camera for capturing photos etc.) we delayed to accept and go there despite requesting many times by this gentleman.

However, we could have accepted it if it is the case of few hours but he requested us to stay for one whole day including night in this busiest schedule that too in a remote atmosphere.

Anyhow, we got a long week holidays last month after few months gap of taking long leaves, so, myself and few other friends planned and agreed to go to his village to see something different life from City to Village. We left Bangalore and reached the village just before early afternoon and the Welcome drinks (water and tender coconut) served us beside family introduction and smiling. Very calm and cool atmosphere and no pollution nor less greenery around. It was lush greenery and chill atmosphere started when we diverted the car from highway to village route. Oh, peaceful mind but no idea which can bore too for some in such location if they stays for a long. The funny thing is about to come later.

We got a separate neat and clean big room at home, we had a nice lunch soon after reached, hospitality was fantastic and their heart too. They told us to relax for a while or till the evening but we were not in a mood to relax except few minutes. We wanted to roam and find the natural beauty surrounded in that village. He brought us few locations which was unique and fantastic for people like us who forgot the village glance since few years. The local people on the way wholeheartedly talking to him and then talking with us by smiling, welcoming and showing their happiness. He introduced few old man and few very old woman on the way and those were without any make up but they shown happiness, love and blessing toward us – this one we can’t buy at any cost, really at any cost.

He (village friend) brought us in a green dense and passed a small passage then found a big farm which we felt like a small heaven over there. Beside that, there was a big well nicely maintained and that looks like dangerous one way but for people like us eager to jump and swim on that well by seeing clean and deep water. However, we didn’t prepare or take swimming suit though he accepted to go and swim in the well (as commonly village people used to swim). This gentlemen become like a guide to us for the village roaming. Wherever we go, those new faces people asking us to have lunch or at least tender coconut but we refused everywhere since we had them recently – and can’t parcel them too, unfortunately. We got to see various flowers, plants, Paddy fields, Ragi (finger millet) ground, sugar cane field and so on.

We then back to home and stayed with a cup of hot tea and chatting with their family, we were then watching the same stupid TV channels for a while. He then brought us to the other places in the village till the sun-set happened and the day gone very quickly though I am unable to write all those stuff here. Less people, less car, less bike roaming over there and only peace of mind with silent atmosphere without any pollution. He told us not to have anything on the way as his parents have made energetic and rich Dinner that too we have to have it within 8pm or max by 9pm (unlike city habit where we used to have dinner twice 5pm as snack and 10pm or 11pm as Dinner). Very important, sleeping time starts here immediate after dinner but people like us needs to walk after dinner specially when we are with friends. He agreed to walk with us at night post dinner or around 9:30pm.

After some entertainment at home with their relatives and kids, we had to go for early dinner and had to come out home to walk for a while. We found strange huge breathing sound on the street and that too at dark atmosphere without much lighting nor we can see them. He said, nothing to worry on ‘no light’ atmosphere and they are the sounds of group of Dog roaming and running here and there. After few minutes, in other location, some group dogs watching us strangely and waging tail to my village friend or else our story would have been different at that time seems. As usual, friends’ fun, comedy punch and smokes (not me) then walks for a long way and return home safely though he said about Snake and Scorpion issues in local at night.

The challenges were big size of mosquito at home or whole village itself. Those mosquitoes used to fly slowly where you can beat it by hand easily and if you missed it then it will return and kiss you specially on anywhere on the face – it happened to me too. Mosquito repellent is no way helpful over there though every home has it including coil. The second challenge in a new atmosphere is, sleeping issue but even more challenge is Dog barking at midnight and the sound is none less than siren which helps you as auto-alarm at anytime to wake you up on deep sleeping. The other challenge is, few mobile network feasibility issue (no tower at all) and Smartphone battery will go down within few hours just by searching the network, one has to come to main road or terrace to get tower signal and speak, very few mobile network is OK there.

The village and everyone has no issue than stated few. Pleasant, perfect and unforgettable village trip to remember. Do you know finally how many days or hours we stayed over there? No idea, we stayed in that village more than our planning of one day stay, yes, due to their love, affection and request, we stayed and enjoyed the village for two nights and till the third day evening. They made us lazy by giving rich food as addition than normal foods three times a day. Finally, time came to silently cry, sentiment, wishes, requests and leave the place. It is unable to forgot and used to remember quite often.

Enjoy reading and going such village if you are in a city.
